  1. Choose New Praat script from the Praat menu to open the ScriptEditor window.

  3. Choose Run from the Run menu (or type C-r) to execute.

*2 Some commands cannot be followed by a comment in the same line. For example, text$ < 'file$' ; read the contents from 'file$' would cause an error, because Praat recognizes the whole string after "< " (including the semicolon and the rest) is a filename. For "<", see below (File IO).
